CLASS LEVELS

ballet

  • A class for younger dancers, that may have no or a little experience, or that may need to continue to work on the positions of the feet and arms, as well as their overall technique and skills. This class will focus on the basics and fundamentals of ballet. This class level meets once a week for a 45-minute class period.

  • A class for dancers that have a base knowledge of ballet technique and skills. This level will include a fair amount of center work, and for those deemed ready, some dancers may progress into pointe work. This class will focus on learning additional skills, some basic jumps and leaps, the continuation of developing proper alignment and musicality. This class level meets twice a week for an hour and a half each class period.

  • A class for dancers that are progressing with their skill level and pointe work, usually to include multiple pirouettes in the center, more advanced petite and grand allegro (small and large jumps), as well increasingly difficult skills on pointe. This class level meets twice a week for at least an hour and a half each class period, this may be more depending on the class schedule availability and location.

  • A class for dancers that are relatively proficient with barre, center, and pointe work. This class level meets twice a week for at least an hour and a half each class period, this may be more depending on the class schedule availability and location. Dancers at this level are highly encouraged to participate in the Saturday Intermediate/ Advanced class as well.

  • A class for dancers of roughly high school through the adult age group, that have none or some experience. This class is for individuals that are just beginning, are returning to dance, or who are in it for the exercise. This class will focus on the basics and fundamentals of ballet both at the barre and in the center; this includes working on coordination, core stabilization, balance, and memorization of exercises. This class level meets once a week for an hour and a half each class period.
